With a stylish, modern dining room and a trendy bar/nightclub area, Golden Temple stands out among typical Chinese restaurants. The setup of the restaurant caters to all types: couples, large parties, and party goers. The Publick House is popular because of its selection of fine beers. True beer snobs flock to the Monk's Cell, the bar's tiny alcove that specializes in Belgian ale. The Publick House takes beer very seriously. Trappist beer made up most of the menu, which is extensive and informative. If you dont know what to get on the menu I would suggest the burger. It is flavorful and their homemade cut fries are delicious. Also get a basket of fries to start. They come hot and in a paper cone on the table. They also have two dipping sauces. Try the beer ketchup and habarano mayo. The chef does a good job of incorporating beers as flavors in the various dishes. They are quite subtle but add taste. This place is not for you if you are a wine drinker or hard liquor. They just dont have anything like that except for fruit beers.

Washington Square Tavern is a cozy bar and restaurant filled with foodies and regulars alike. Just off the Green Line C train to the Washington Square stop, you can indulge in cozy seasonal favorites like baked camembert and wild mushroom ravioli. Their bar is inviting and the food and service is known for being some of the best in Brookline. The owners also own the Beacon St. Tavern as well.

Established in 1938, Athan's has become a Washington Sq. stalwart. Athan's bakery is a copy of the Athan's bakery in Kalamata, Greece. Serving up European cakes, biscuits, and desserts, Athan's now draws its clientele from the entire Greater Boston area. While a couple of small tables provide seating for about 6-8 people inside the store, the bulk of customers come in for take-out orders of Greek, French, German, and Italian cakes and baklava. Cake portions (beautifully decorated and great for special guests) are usually $4: the Amendoa (vanilla genoise and bavarois with almonds) stands out as being especially delectable and rich, yet light. Athan's also stocks great gelato in a wide variety of flavors ($2-4 for scoops, $7 for quarts). With 48 hours notice, the bakery will also provide custom cakes for birthdays ($25-90).

While Super Fusion may just look like any other hole-in-wall, don't let it's small size fool you. Super Fusion more than holds its own against Brookline sushi heavy weights Fugakyu and Mr. Sushi with delicious sushi at a fraction of the price. Seating is limited with only 4 tables for two and 4 bar seats but they deliver through Night Owl as well as do take-out for those too impatient to wait for a table. Super Fusion has a large menu with items such as the simple Kappa Maki cucumber roll and the Louisiana Maki with fried crawfish, avocado and an orange cajun mayo sauce. Prices on the Maki and Nigiri range from $4 to $18 with the average being around $8. Portions sizes are spot-on and you rarely feel overstuffed or over charged. Whether a you're seasoned sushi fan or new to the cuisine, Super Fusion is sure to have something for everyone. The Brookline location has thrived so well that a new location has opened in Watertown. Super Fusion also offers party platters ranging in price from $78 to $208.
