It's a good honest specimen of a dying breed around these parts: an American-Chinese restaurant where you can go with a paperback on a damp, chilly day, sit down, and get a cup of hot and sour soup for lunch (they actually do this very well), a spring roll, and a plate of something spicy and reasonably tasty with rice for six or seven dollars.

Ok, Wah's is NOT gourmet, it is not a five star restaurant. It's good, solid, greasy Chinese food. Their list of entrees is VERY impressive...everything from Mooshi, to Duck to Singapore style dishes..and at 2 am when you get the munchies, there is nothing better than their General Gau's. You can actually taste the ginger and garlic whereas most budget places, their General Gaus is nothing more than Chicken Fingers. The little lady you see in there has been there for years, and although she sounds a little scary, she's quite nice. HUGE PORTIONS, and I mean, BIG! I got the Orange Chicken Combo Plate, which comes with an appetizer, and no joke, the biggest pieces of orange chicken I've ever seen!

The Library's mission is to provide access to recorded knowledge and information to all the people of Brookline. The Library helps develop in
children a love of reading and an appreciation of the library's resources.
Brookline Coolidge Corner Branch Library offers materials that meet the needs of an urban neighborhood, characterized by significant populations of elderly, children and readers for whom English is a second language. Russian, Chinese and growing Spanish speaking communities require material in these languages as well as resources for learning English.

Taam China serves up the finest kosher Chinese food in the city. That isn't saying a whole lot, considering it only has one competitor, but if you're in the neighborhood, the menu won't disappoint. Cramped seating means the best bet is probably take-out, but don't worry: traditional favorites like scallion pancakes ($5) and sesame chicken ($12) will definitely stay crispy on the quick bus back to campus. Also open on Sa from 30min. after the Sabbath ends until midnight.
