This Coolidge Corner location, recently opened in March 2008, is designed with the needs of both personal trainer and trainee in mind, the new BodyScapes space is outfitted with top-of-the-line equipment, indoor cycling and group fitness studios, and locker rooms chock full of amenities. The gym also boasts a fully-equipped, glass-enclosed studio specifically for one-on-one personal-training sessions. Our Mission is to provide you with absolutely everything needed to help you reach and maintain your fitness goals, with the help of an expert staff and a friendly, modern, comfortable environment. Bodyscapes Fitness combines our core competency of personal training and high-touch customer service with the traditional gym model, creating a one-stop shop for the best in trainer-assisted and individual physical fitness. We want happy, successful members, so our staff devotes a great deal of personal attention to every client. And it shows. Contrary to national health club statistics, over 80% of our members are active members. We’ve made it easy to love coming here, and they come often! The company was founded in 1997 by Robert Shapiro, a personal trainer at a large Boston area gym. In response to deficiencies he saw in the mega-gym industry (impersonal, intimidating, poor quality of trainers, competition for clients), Rob opened one of the very first exercise facilities exclusively focused on personal training. As members began to understand and appreciate the Bodyscapes’ difference, the company expanded. Alan Smith, an executive with significant operational and financial expertise came aboard to help manage growth. David Fine, a long-term Bodyscapes client with a strong legal and investment background later joined the partnership.
